“All of our behavior results from the thoughts that preceded it. So the thing to work on is not your behavior but the thing that caused your behavior, which is your thoughts.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer

Your environment must be conducive to the positive aspects of you and your inner voice.  Surround yourself with people who are loving, caring, and supportive.  Stay away from those people who are fountains of negativity.  They’ll only bring you down. Step back an look at your surroundings both at home and at work. Are you in a space that fosters positive emotions?  Here are some tips that can help you create a positive environment.

  • Add a pretty flowering plant.
  • Post motivational sayings where you can always see them, or have them delivered to you each day via email.
  • Personalize your house, hang pictures you love, drawings from kids.

The key is to use anything that makes you feel good.  Surround yourself with what you think of as beauty. If you are in a negative environment, change it. I know not everyone can just up and quit a job, sell a house or move. There are, however, things you can do to minimize the negativity. There are certain people and situations that will threaten your self-esteem.  You need to stay away from these in order to maintain the positive thinking you are trying hard to cultivate. This is not an easy task, but well worth the mental freedom you will experience. Journey well.
